- Mozart was one of seven children but only one other sibling survived Maryanne. She was also very musical.
- Their father Leopold trained them and made them perform for royalty.
- His mother Anna Maria was an intelligent woman and a very important factor for Mozart.
- Mozart was know as a child prodigy.
- At age 3, he experimented with piano sounds
- At 5 he wrote his first piece of music
- At 6 he had taken up violin
- By 8 he wrote his first symphony
- By 12, he wrote his first opera
- he wrote 625 pieces of music.
- He had 2 gifts, perfect pitch and photographic memory
- Journeyed to Italy which was the "it place" for musicians in the 1700's
- As he reached his 20's, he grew apart from his controlling father
- He married at 26 to Constanze Weber
- They had four children but only 2 survived past childhood
- in 1791, a man came to mozart and asked him to compose a requiem
- As he wrote it, he started to feel as if the requiem was for his own death and if he finished writing it he'd would die
- That belief came true also. Before he finished it, he died
